Continuous Training: Police Officers of the BP BiH successfully completed a Series of Specialist Trainings

During the past period, police officers of the BiH Border Police have successfully completed a series of specialist trainings, which will contribute to more effective protection of the state border.

Police officers have successfully completed a series of specialist trainings for the management of drones, multi-sensor systems for surveillance and border control, management of specialist vehicles (ATV) and training of coxswains for monitoring water borders, the BiH Border Police announced on Monday.

They also completed training for working as service dog handlers, detection of falsified travel and identification documents, as well as training on how to deal with breaking into premises and overpowering and mobilizing people.

Trainings in the field of air safety, anti-explosion protection, strengthening the ability to monitor the green border, control at the first and second line of border checks, providing first aid, working on mixed patrols, were also on the list, as well as other professional programs that improve the operational abilities of police officers.

The BiH Border Police emphasize that modern security challenges require professionally trained police officers, the application of modern technologies and continuous improvement of professional competencies, and that this is precisely why the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina continuously invests in the development of its human capacities through specialist training and intensive cooperation with international partners.

“The acquired knowledge and skills contribute daily to more effective surveillance of the state border, the detection of smuggling of people, narcotics, weapons and other illegal goods, the prevention of the misuse of forged documents, as well as a faster response to security threats,” the BiH Border Police emphasize.

Significant support for the development of the capacities of the BiH Border Police is provided by the European Union, diplomatic missions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and numerous international partners who, through joint projects, enable the implementation of specialist training, exchange of experiences, the acquisition of modern equipment and the application of the best European standards in the field of border management.

“International cooperation provides police officers with the opportunity to gain new knowledge and experience through working with experts from other countries, which improves their professional competence and the application of modern methods of protecting the state border,” the press release emphasizes.

GP BiH reminds that “continuous investment in the knowledge and training of police officers is directly reflected in the achieved results in the fight against all forms of cross-border crime and the protection of the state border” and that professionally trained and modernly equipped police officers represent the most important resource of the BiH Border Police.

Also, members of the BiH Border Police through the “Community Police Work” project transfer their knowledge, skills and experiences to students and high school students, introducing them to the work, responsibilities and role of the BiH Border Police in protecting the state border and the security system, contributing to strengthening awareness of the importance of protecting the state border and developing trust in police institutions.

The Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue to invest in the development of its personnel, the improvement of specialist capacities and the strengthening of international cooperation, convinced that knowledge, professionalism and partnership are the basis of effective protection of the state border and a safe environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the press release states.
