
“The involvement of B&H citizens is encouraging, but it is very important that protests remain peaceful”, announced Cormack, who was appointed by USA President Barack Obama in the position of the new USA Ambassador in B&H.
The new appointed Ambassador addressed the Committee for Foreign Affairs of the Senate and spoke about her future engagement in B&H.
“USA has invested a lot in B&H with the aim of strengthening democracy, human rights and economy in B&H and thanks to that the country has progressed. However, we can not eliminate the risk of a setback. B&H and USA have a special bond, because we have helped the war end and to bring peace in the county”, said Cormack.
The confirmation of the Senate is the last step in the appointment of the Ambassador, after which Cormack should undertake her position in Sarajevo.
She has worked in the State Department as the Deputy Coordinator of the Department for International Information Program at the State Secretariat. She has worked as the Director of Department for Western Europe from 2009-2010, and as Deputy Director of the Office for Korean Issues from 2006-2009.
