The Court of BiH rejected Appeal of the Initiative for Stolac, the CEC can call Elections?

electionsThe Central Election Commission (CEC)received the decision from the Appellate Division of the Court on dismissing the appeals of the Initiative for Stolac and the Social Democratic Front on the CEC’s decision on the cancellation of elections in Stolac, confirmed Maksida Piric, spokeswoman for the CEC.

“We received two decisions from the Appellate Division of the Court on rejecting the appeal, which means that the CEC has conditions to organize a meeting and make a decision to call the elections in the coming days,” said Piric.

From the Initiative for Stolac noted that the appeals were established and announced that they will not give up the fight.

“The CEC previously announced and President Branko Petric said that it is not possible to send the ballots within 14 days, we gOt details from the post offices on how much time is needed for ballots to come to America, Canada, and Australia. It is possible that the CEC gave a written explanation to the Court on how they will enable voters to receive ballots and return them on time. We will wait for the explanation and see if we can appeal to the decision of the CEC regarding the same subject. If we cannot complain we will send the appeal to the Constitutional Court of BiH which is still considering our three appeals related to the removal from the list. We do not understand what is happening, whether the Court of BiH has become so politically controlled that they are making politically motivated decisions that deny the right of voters. We will ask people to make a photo when they receive the ballot and then we will continue the legal battle with these materials until they prove that the CEC did wrong and that the Appellate division acted politically,” said Mahmutcehajic from the Initiative for Stolac.
