The indictment alleges that over a period of time between 30 April 1992 and late August 1992, in the framework of a widespread and systematic attack launched by the army, police and paramilitary units of the Serb Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, subsequently Republika Srpska, against the non-Serb civilians in the Municipality of Prijedor, knowing of such an attack, Ranko Babić, as a I-class Captain at the Ljubija Battalion; Bratislav Bilbija, as a Second Lieutenant; and Đuro Adamović as a sergeant in the Army of the Serb Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (subsequently the Army of Republika Srpska), all participated in, aided and abetted and incited the persecution of the non-Serb civilian population in the territory of settlements of Brdo, Hambarine, Rakovčani and Ljeskare and Bukvik and other hamlets in the Municipality of Prijedor, on religious, national and ethnic grounds, while carrying out the attack on the civilian population in the territory of Ljeskare and Bukvik and the surrounding hamlets by way of murder, torture, forced disappearance and infliction of tremendous pain and injuries to bodily integrity and other inhumane acts of similar nature, undertaken with the aim of inflicting great suffering, serious physical and mental injuries and violation of health.
