The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is 01/07/2026. confirmed the indictment in the Zoran Simanić et al. case, which charges the defendants Zoran Simanić and Dragan Jović with having committed the criminal offense of genocide under Article 171, points a) and b) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina (KZBiH) in connection with Article 180, paragraph 1, and in connection with Article 31 of the same Law, by the actions described in the indictment.
The defendants Zoran Simić and Dragan Jović are accused of having, in the period from July 6, 1995. until 1.11.1995. year, during a widespread and systematic attack bay members of the VRS and the MUP of the RS, targeting members of the Bosniak people in the UN protected area of Srebrenica, during which an operation was carried out for the permanent and forced relocation of the entire Bosniak civilian population, as well as the illegal arrest, imprisonment, and execution of Bosniak men and boys of military age from the Srebrenica enclave, as well as the operation of their execution, burial, excavation, and then reburial in other locations in order to hide the evidence, in what way an exterminated group of Bosniak people, during which more than 7,000 Bosniak men and boys were killed, buried, dug up and moved to other locations and then buried again, knowingly and willingly provided help to members of the joint criminal enterprise (JCW), whose plan and goal was to imprison and summarily execute, and then bury, military-capable Bosniak men from the Srebrenica enclave, and women, children and the elderly to forcibly removed from the enclave.
It is further stated that the accused participated in the realization of the above-mentioned plan in such a way that, after at least 829 Bosniak men and boys from the United Nations Protected Zone “Srebrenica” were forcibly brought from the area of the municipality of Bratunac to the elementary school in the village of Roćević, municipality of Zvornik, on July 14, 1995, and then to the location of the gravel pit on the banks of the Drina, the settlement of Kozluk, municipality of Zvornik, together with other persons known to them, by firing firearms, participated in the killing (murders) of the said detainees throughout the day, at which location no less than 829 people were killed by the end of the day on July 15, 1995, whose remains were subsequently buried in mass graves at the said location, and after which their remains were moved to several secondary mass graves.
