The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina today lifted the detention of Republika Srpska Prime Minister Radovan Višković and the Speaker of the RS National Assembly (NSRS) Nenad Stevandić.

The hearing was held at 12:00.

The prosecution proposed replacing the detention with prohibitive measures, including a ban on leaving the place of residence, a ban on contacting witnesses and an obligation to regularly report to the competent institutions.

The detention of RS President Milorad Dodik was lifted on 4 July, after he gave a statement to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.

Dodik, Višković and Stevandić were placed in detention because they did not respond to summons from the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.

Stevandić and Višković, along with SNSD leader Milorad Dodik, are under investigation on suspicion of conspiring to overthrow the constitutional order of BiH. The investigation was launched after entity institutions issued decisions challenging and rejecting the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH and the High Representative, which the Prosecutor’s Office interprets as an attack on the constitutional and legal order of the state.
