The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is again exposed to pressures exerted by anonymous senders of extremely malicious and trumped-up texts, which abound in false, offensive and hideous constructs about the personality and conduct of a number of judges and the President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and thus create pressure with the aim of undermining the institutional capacity and credibility of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Due to the lack of real criminal quantity, instead of previous anonymous criminal reports, now we have a shift to anonymous so-called “open letters,” with false signatories, all with the aim of launching a direct attack on the reputation and authority of the State Court.
The judges and the President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina resolutely and with abhorrence reject the claims presented in the anonymous so-called “open letter” dated 14 January 2021, with particular rejection of any authorship of the text in question, which is testified to by the handwritten signatures attached to this press statement.
Because of the cases it has been processing, the Court has been exposed to various media and institutional activities, which are not only unlawful, but veer into the realm of defamatory and offensive speech. However, neither this nor the previous instances will affect the legal and proper approach taken by the Court in its daily operations and the conduct of the judges and the Court President.
The judges of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina invite the prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina to state publicly whether they are signatories to the anonymous so-called “open letter” dated 14 January 2021.
