These are the latest results of monitoring of the process of solving old cases, one of the primary activities of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) of BiH that ensures that the courts are respecting the fulfillment of their plans to solve cases in the planned timeframe.
Courts planned to solve a total of 156 320 old cases. From first instance courts is expected to fulfill a minimum of 25 % of their plans in the first quarter. However, the analysis shows that they implemented an equal or even higher percentage than they planned and managed to achieve 36 % of their plan.
Thanks to this activity whose realization started back in 2010, there is a continuous decrease in the number of old cases, so that the courts solved a total of 720,000 old objects through plans, which also impacts the reduction of the total number of pending cases as well as shortening the duration of proceedings in courts, as announced from the HJPC.
