CrnadakMinister of Foreign Affairs of B&H, Igor Crnadak, stated that the construction of the bridge on Sava River near Bosanska Gradiška should start next year and that they do not expect from Croatia to stop this project.

“After the agreement was made between B&H and the European Commission, we do not expect that Croatia will make further complications regarding the construction of the bridge on Sava River, because that would be same as giving itself an autogol,” said Crnadak.

He emphasized that it is very important that the construction of the bridge on Sava River in Bosanska Gradiška was unblocked and that “regardless of the contestation”, besides the role of municipalities and the Government of the Republic of Srpska, some Serbian representatives in B&H institutions had a very important role in this job as well.

He thanked to that one part of the authorities in the Republic of Srpska who admitted that after the Vienna conference, the construction of the bridge on Sava River was unblocked and become actually certain.

New bridge on Sava River, added Crnadak, will make the route from Banja Luka to Europe, Zagreb and Belgrade shorter and will also mean a lot for Bosanska Gradiška, the RS and B&H.

Crnadak said to the press that he is not expecting from Croatia to stop the already agreed construction of the bridge, as it was the case with the export of milk.

He talked with the Mayor of Bosanska Gradiška, Zoran Latinović, on current economic and political situation in this local community, and visited the construction site of a new border crossing and customs terminal Gradiška, as well as the agro-industrial zone in Nova Topola.

Crnadak added that he also talked with the Mayor Latinović, about the possibility of presenting Gradiška during the presidency of B&H on the Council of Europe, which is starting at the end of the next month, and he invited all municipalities in the Republic of Srpska to use the upcoming opportunity and show all of their potentials.

Zoran Latinović stated that the location of the new border crossing and customs terminal in Bosanska Gradiška will open possibilities for significant development of the municipality and the opening of new business zone Liman which, with the location right next to the border crossing, will offer very favorable conditions for investors.

He emphasized that land works on the construction site of the new customs terminal will be completed by the end of this year, and that the Indirect Taxation Authority of B&H is planning to invest 10 million BAM for the completion of the one of the most modern border crossings in the region.

“Customs terminal will get its full sense after the construction of the new bridge on Sava River. Also, works on the construction of the 5 kilometers long bypass is in progress and half of it should be completed by the end of the next year,” said Latinović, emphasizing that Bosanska Gradiška should not tend only towards being a transit area but to also offer favorable conditions for investment in the economy sector and making workplaces.
