During 2025, the Government of the Republic of Croatia allocated 133.41 million euros for various support programs for Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while an allocation of approximately 200 million euros is planned for 2026.

Support is provided through the Central State Office for Croats outside the Republic of Croatia and through the programs of several line ministries, including the ministries of science, regional development, health, culture, economy, defense, and foreign and European affairs.

As it was pointed out to Fena news agency in the written response, the goal of those programs is to improve the position of the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, encourage the sustainable survival and development of local communities, preserve national identity and cultural heritage, and further strengthen the connection of Croats with the Republic of Croatia.

In 2025, the state administration bodies of the Republic of Croatia allocated a total of 133,410,569.11 euros in support through various programs intended for Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while an allocation of around 200 million euros is planned for 2026, the Central State Office stated.

Program of projects of strategic importance

The program of support for projects of strategic importance has been implemented since 2022. These are projects that contribute to the long-term improvement of the position of Croats outside of Croatia, the preservation of language and cultural identity, and the strengthening of ties with the Republic of Croatia.
