The President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic, arrived in Citluk yesterday to celebrate the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Special Purpose Unit “Gavran 2”, where he personally presented awards to members of the Croatian Defense Council (HVO).
Milanovic with the delegations, in the presence of the army that held a parade, with the locals under war flags, paid tribute to the fallen soldiers, laid flowers, and lit candles in front of the Memorial Cross to the fallen members of the HVO in Citluk.
He then participated in the central ceremony marking the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Special Purpose Unit “Gavran 2”.
”On this occasion, the President of the Republic will award the special purpose unit ‘Gavran 2’ with the Order of the Croatian trefoil for the special merits of its members in the Homeland War,” said his spokesman yesterday.
The ceremony was held at the “Brotnjo” Hotel, where Milanovic‘s address was also planned.
Milanovic previously stated that the HVO, together with the Croatian Army, under the leadership of the Croatian Army, under joint command, based on the international agreement signed in Split between Croatian President Franjo Tudjman andPresident of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Alija Izetbegovic, “liberated BiH and made it possible for it to be a free country, a country in which war was finally ended”.
“Not only that it is forgotten today, but is very brazenly and systematically underestimated, and Croatia, as usual, is charged with complexes of guilt and responsibility, instead of saying thank you, may it never happen again,” Milanovic noted, Klix.ba reports.
