The anniversary of the liberation of Jajce is being celebrated today in Jajce. On that occasion, Croatian President Zoran Milanović spoke, who asserted once again that the “Croatian boot” liberated Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that the Croats were asking for very little in return – equality.
He honored the veterans, and then addressed them with the usual words that Milanović uses when talking about Croatian veterans: “They say that a man dies twice, the first time when his heart stops, the second time when oblivion covers him. People who fell and gave everything had for Jajce, they don’t have to fear that oblivion”.
After that, he decided once again to establish that the Croats were on the right side in the war, and then he assessed that they did not get enough in Bosnia and Herzegovina considering how much they gave and contributed.
“Whoever proves too much does not prove anything, that is just as incorrect as not discussing tastes. We and you must always interpret and explain with sound arguments, with an open heart, why this whole Croatian story with elements of parody and rhapsody is the right way. And why we are on the right side of history. If it were not for the Croats, BiH would not have been liberated, would not have ended the occupation and would not have been a complete country. Some are not ready to sit down at the table. In the 9th and 10th months, the Croatian army forced Karadžić and Mladić to sit at the table. BiH, the unblocking of Sarajevo and other great things in the war were not achieved by American, British or French bombers, but boots on the ground and the coat of arms of Croatian soldiers. We don’t need thanks for that, but we have to repeat it,” Milanović said.
In return, he believes that the Croats should get something: “We are asking for a little, we are asking for the fundamental respect that was once agreed upon. These days there is no talk at all that anyone can choose a member of the Presidency from among the Croatian people. What does that have to do with sound logic and honesty – elementary human honesty?”.
He says that Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina are being reduced to a minority even though they are not, but that even as a minority they are not given the rights they should.
“In Croatia, minorities are elected exclusively by members of those minorities. They are not a constituent people, but that shows the logic of things. What does an honest approach to the problem look like, and not ordinary thievery. After years of repetition, insistence, I cannot describe it in any other way than as thievery,” he said. is.
“All those who, out of good intentions and bad intelligence, or bad intentions, talk about canceling Dayton and replacing it with a new arrangement, I, as the president of the modern state of Croatia, can say that I will never support it and that we will vigorously fight against it. Bosnia and Herzegovina without equal Croats , there are no Bosniaks and Serbs. This is not clear to some people and they put their greed under the veil of cynical excuses. I don’t know what bothers them more, theft or rudeness, and together it is a toxic combination,” Milanović concluded his address, Klix.ba writes.
