Members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Sabina Čudić and Saša Magazinović, spoke today with the Delegation of the Parliament of Great Britain to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which is on a working visit to our country for several days.
During the conversation, both sides expressed satisfaction with the high level of cooperation between the parliaments of the two friendly countries, and MPs Čudić and Magazinović once again emphasized that they deeply appreciate Great Britain’s support for the full sovereignty, political and economic prosperity of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its Euro-Atlantic path.
The guests emphasized today that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a topic that a large number of parliamentarians in Great Britain are very seriously concerned with, and they showed special interest in the current political situation in BiH, the legislative activities of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH in light of fulfilling the conditions for starting negotiations with the EU, fulfilling the conditions for the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, and preparing for the upcoming elections.
Čudić and Magazinović emphasized that it is very important in the election campaign to resist the forces that build their political and electoral prosperity exclusively on divisions, using the raising of national tensions and generating fear of others as key political tools.
At the same time, they called on their colleagues from the British Parliament to help stop the promotion of policies and individuals who obstruct our country’s European path as alleged leaders or flagships of that path. In this way, as stated, representatives of the international community and even some ambassadors working in BiH directly encourage anti-European activities and the destruction of our EU path.
Members of the Great Britain delegation thanked the members of the Foreign Affairs Committee for their answers, which will help them better understand the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They once again expressed their readiness to assist in parliamentary work and legislative processes and the promotion of our path towards membership in the European Union and NATO – the Public Relations Department of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly announced.
