In the beginning, she pointed out that we have already seen and experienced the worldview of Milorad Dodik, which he showed in his letter to Viktor Orban, on the domestic political level.
“Racism, chauvinism, and extreme conservatism, which stifles all freedoms, was his guiding thread in political action. By doing so, he brought Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to the brink of conflict and led Republika Srpska (RS) into isolation. Dodik tried to see RS as one of the darkest places in Europe. Denial and relativization of war crimes, including genocide, has become the norm of the political establishment in RS, as well as constant insults to entire peoples, especially Bosniaks, and attempts to destroy BiH, especially its multiethnic and multi-confessional character, “ she told.
She reminded that the official use of the name Bosnian language is prohibited in the RS, and public institutions have been clericalized to such an extent that each of them has a ”krsna slava” (Serbian family feast for its patron saint). Also, Draza Mihailovic‘s fascist Chetnik movement was rehabilitated by historical revisionism.
“All this was happening in front of the eyes of the international community, and the response of many of their officials was that it was his rhetoric in order to maintain political power. In a letter to Viktor Orban, Milorad Dodik openly advocates organizing the European Union (EU) on the same values that he made mainstream in RS: Islamophobia, Radical Patriarchy, Putinophilia, and Christian Fundamentalism I believe this letter is final straw for representatives of the international community of liberal democracies. It is clear that Dodik does not plan to keep his values only for internal use, but plans to connect withretrograde forces within the EU to empower them, “ Cudic said.
She further stressed that the RS under Dodik’s rule is currently the most open space in Europe for the greatest political and ideological obscurity, and there is no doubt that he, as the undisputed authority in that entity, is a very important support for extreme European right-wingers who are still in the minority.
“That support must be removed and the RS culturally, ideologically, and politically decontaminated as much as possible with the political neutralization of Milorad Dodik. I call on all progressive (both domestic and international) political forces to do so. Dodik is a security threat to both BiH and Europe. We have warned about that several times from Our Party, and after his letter to Orban, we will make sure those who had doubts about who Dodik is, and even considered him a credible partner for negotiations on the future of BiH,understand that “ Cudic concluded.
