On 5 March, in the building of the European Parliament, Tanja Fajon, member of the European Parliament and member of the EU Delegations for relations with BiH was the host to special projection of BiH film ‘Sevdah za Karima’ (Sevdah for Karim) by Jasmin Duraković.
Member of the European Parliament and Rapporteur of the European Parliament for BiH Doris Pack attended the projection of the film.
Tanja Fajon, ambassador of BiH in Belgium PhD Bisera Turković ,author of the film Jasmin Duraković and director of photography Šahin Šišić held an introductory speech.
Its world premiere was on the 16th Sarajevo Film Festival, and since it was shown in other festivals.
It received the European Capital of Culture Award Pecs for 2010.
This exciting love story, with elements of social and political drama, talks about the group of BiH deminers who prepare themselves to go to Iraq to search for better life. Film tackles many issues of the new generations and present-day BiH who survive in the times of terror after 11 September.
After the film, there was a solemn cocktail, where those present had the opportunity to exchange their impressions about the film and social and political issues of it, and about other issues as well.
Apart from the ambassador, PhD Turković, representatives of the Embassy of BiH in Brussels and Mission of BiH in the EU attended as well, which was the opportunity for socializing with Tanja Fajon and others.
Director Duraković visited the Embassy of BiH in Brussels where he met with the ambassador of BiH in Belgium PhD Bisera Duraković , and they talked about the promotion of BiH culture in Belgium and in Brussels, as a centre of the European Union.
Duraković visited with ambassador Turković an art exhibition of three BiH artists Mirsada Baljić, Ana Kovač and Irena Sladoja which was organised on the occasion of ‘Days of BiH in Belgium’ in the premises of the Embassy, which was organised by the Embassy of BIH in Belgium.
The exhibition will be opened until 15 March.
