The Council of Peoples of Republika Srpska (RS) yesterdaydiscussed the Law on immovable property used for the functioning of public authorities, in connection with the Decision on initiating the procedure for the protection of the vital national interest of the Bosniak people.
Since at the session of the People’s Council no agreement was reached regarding the mentioned law, in accordance with the procedure for the protection of the vital national interest, the matter was referred to the Joint Commission of the National Assembly of the RS (NARS) and the Council of the People of the RS for harmonization of laws, regulations, and acts.
This law was adopted by the NARS at the end of last year, and the Caucus of the Bosniak People in the Council of the People of the RS made a decision at the beginning of January to raise the issue of vital national interest.
”Today, at the session of the Council of Peoples, we voted according to the Rules of Procedure, the way it goes, and that is when one caucus raises an issue of vital national interest, then voting is done by caucuses. The Caucus of Bosniaks raised the issue of vital national interest when it comes to the Bosniak people and has remained that position,” it was pointed outyesterday by Adil Osmanovic, delegate in the Caucus of the Bosniak People.
Osmanovic added that the other caucuses – the Caucus of Serbs, the Caucus of Croats, and the Caucus of Others – all unanimously supported the law and stated that there was no violation of the vital national interest.
He calls on the Constitutional Court of the RS to protect the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the Constitution of the RS.
”But we will see what kind of decision they will make,” noted Osmanovic.
