According to Hadžiefendić-Mešić, the number of tourists in B&H in November is evidently lower in relation to the trend of growth which has been recorded during past months. Tourism is very sensitive and quickly reacts to all negative occurrences in the world.
“In general, B&H is not an isolated island, we are a part of Europe and we experience consequences of current events,” Hadžiefendić-Mešić said.
The recent terrorist attacks in B&H and in Europe are causing tourists to feel insecure and lose wanderlust.
“Terrorism affects tourism even globally. Tourism is very sensitive and quickly reacts to all negative occurrences in the world. The fact is that traveling is hindered, procedures for traveling by planes are more extended, more complex. The fact is also that traveling within the EU is no longer as it used to be, controls are increased,” Hadžiefendić-Mešić explained.
