In the last few days, an obvious forgery has been spreading on social networks, with a lot of spelling mistakes that warn of the allegedly disturbed security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Unfortunately, a large number of citizens are unable to recognize that these are fake documents, which has led to the creation of panic.
The documents that are being spread not only create groundless panic among citizens, but also benefit those forces who do not want the resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica to be adopted and who want to present Bosnia and Herzegovina as an unstable state.
Alija Kožljak, the chief of staff of the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, said in a statement to Klix.ba that the pamphlet circulating on the networks is an example of the hybrid and propaganda action of destructive and hostile elements, which is trying to create unrest among citizens, but also to undermine stability and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“It is obvious that they are synchronized with the actions of some domestic political actors, as well as politicians from the neighborhood who are already directly trying to threaten the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Irresponsible individuals and groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina fall prey to propaganda activity and spread this misinformation,” warns Kožljak . He emphasizes that this is untruth, misinformation and a false pamphlet, and that the Chairman of the Presidency, Denis Bećirović, is seriously working with domestic and international actors to respect the Dayton Agreement, that everyone, in accordance with the mandate, ensures that peace, stability and security are not threatened.
“I call on the media and citizens not to fall for such pamphlets, and security and police organizations will certainly do their part and find those who harass innocent citizens,” said Kožljak.
He also underlines that such moves can be connected with the resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica and politics that wants to show that the adoption of the resolution could disturb the peace.
“When I said that some foreign elements from the neighborhood are trying to undermine the security situation, they are aimed both in the short term and at that activity of the international community that refers to the possible adoption of a resolution on the commemoration of the genocide in Srebrenica. In every possible way, they are trying to portray insecurity and instability in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order to possibly prevent the adoption of such a civilizational norm, in this case the resolution.
Unfortunately, their goals go beyond that and they really try to make Bosnia and Herzegovina insecure, unstable in order to achieve their foreign policy goals that are destructive for all citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, concluded Kožljak.
