Dodik: I Knew the Exact Date and Time of Schmidt’s Departure

During his visit to Russia, Milorad Dodik, President of the SNSD party, spoke with RTRS about the resignation of the High Representative to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt.

Dodik stated that he knew the exact moment Schmidt would resign.

“I knew the exact day and moment he would leave. I was told he would do it properly, and if he opposed, he would be blacklisted. He, being the coward he is, submitted to this decision. I was also warned that if I did not adhere to the High Representative, I would be punished, but I still did not. And now, of course, he is leaving under these circumstances – without dignity – and it is Dodik’s fault,” he said.

As in his previous assessment of Schmidt’s term, he blamed Schmidt for the issues in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Schmidt, such an untalented and politically incompetent individual, turned the peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina against each other. This simply opened our eyes, and we may later be grateful that he revealed the inability of Bosnia and Herzegovina to function. Nothing can be forced,” Dodik added.

Furthermore, Dodik emphasized that the support Schmidt showed to Kamala Harris was one of the deciding factors for his departure. At a panel discussion in Germany, the High Representative to Bosnia and Herzegovina, following the US presidential elections in 2024, said he was sorry Harris lost.

“He and those like him want to send a message that Americans are against them. He wrote himself off when he publicly supported Kamala Harris. The truth is that he was against (Donald) Trump during the election campaign, and he did not expect him to win – and people in America do not forgive that,” the SNSD President believes.
