Dodik reveals Candidate for Member of the BiH Presidency and President of RS

Savo Minić will be the candidate of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) for the president of Republika Srpska, while the current member of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović is again a candidate for the position of member of the Presidency of BiH from among the Serbian people. Today, their candidacy was officially supported by all the leaders of the ruling coalition in the RS by signing the Agreement on Joint Action in Banja Luka.

SNSD leader Milorad Dodik said after the meeting that the signed document shows complete unity within the coalition bloc.

“The candidates have the full support of the coalition partners whose presidents signed an agreement on joint action today. This proposed agreement shows that the coalition is unique,” said Dodik.

The president of the United Srpska (US) Nenad Stevandić confirmed his unconditional support for the SNSD candidates, while the leader of the Socialist Party (SP) Petar Đokić emphasized that the key goal of the coalition is to present the results of the previous work to the citizens.

“Our goal is to present to the citizens of the RS and for them to understand and accept that the alternative offered does not bring seriousness or security for the survival of the RS. With our results so far, we have made a key contribution to the development and strengthening of the position of the RS,” said Đokić.

The President of the Democratic Alliance (DEMOS) Nedeljko Čubrilović assessed that the signed agreement represents “the only story that can give perspective and future to the RS”, expressing the expectation that the coalition will win a sufficient number of mandates, including the capacity for possible constitutional solutions.

The leader of the People’s Party of Srpska (NPS) Darko Banjac said that the RS “has never had a better position”, and that for its preservation it is necessary for this coalition to continue working together.

The joint performance and preservation of political continuity was emphasized by the president of the Socialist Party of Srpska (SPS), Goran Selak.

The support of Minić and Cvijanović was also confirmed by the president of the Democratic People’s Alliance (DNS), Nenad Nešić, emphasizing the “patriotic character” of the proposed candidates.

BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović stated, after today’s meeting, that she left yesterday’s session of the State Presidency due to, as she stated, “brutal violation of procedures and constitutional rights” during the adoption of the Decision on the appointment of members of the Commission for the Protection of National Monuments of BiH.

“I remind you that I declared this decision destructive to the vital interest of the RS, and the final word on this will be given by the National Assembly of the RS,” she pointed out.

Cvijanović repeated that the remaining two members of the Presidency, Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić, voted without her participation and consent. “There is an attempt on the scene to illegally override the Serbian member and declare the Serbian heritage to be that of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” she said.

She accused the chairman, Denis Bećirović, of usurping his powers, of not allowing her to speak during the session, and of refusing the request that the BiH Presidency Secretariat make a statement on the matter, Fena writes.
