The President of Republika Srpska (RS), Milorad Dodik, stated that he has promises from certain United States (U.S.) officials that the U.S. will change its attitude toward BiH and toward the officials of RS.
Dodik emphasized that this encouraged him to publicly present his views on the current political situation in BiH and the plans of the entity.
“We have the support of people from the U.S. who say, ‘wait a little longer, do not give up the fight, this has all been wrong for thirty years, the U.S. has an obligation to change its attitude.’ I say this publicly, because I was given promises of that kind,” Dodik said.
Dodik also accused the previous U.S. administration of recognizing the verdict of the Court of BiH by which he was sentenced and banned from performing public office.
He also commented on the consequences of the summit of U.S. and Russian presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Alaska. According to him, the world is changing, and Europe “has no leaders who could sit at the same table with world leaders.”
“That is why powers are showing themselves over us here, some stupid political muscles on RS and Serbia,” Dodik said, assessing that the European Union (EU) “has collapsed.” He added that “the western structure that is waging a hybrid war against RS and the Serbian people has not yet been defeated, but that changes are happening.”
Dodik also announced that no early presidential elections will be held in RS, but that the National Assembly of RS (NARS) will adopt a decision on a series of referendums. The aim of the referendums will be for citizens to declare themselves on the decision of the Central Election Commission of BiH (CIK) to strip him of his presidential mandate.
“No school or cultural center will be able to be used for holding elections. Any participation of people in electoral committees regarding those elections, we will change the laws and make it part of criminal responsibility for undermining the constitutional order of the RS,” Dodik stated.
He emphasized that the SNSD and their coalition partners will not participate in those elections.
