Dozens killed in new Clash on Pakistan-Afghanistan Border

Dozens of soldiers and civilians have been killed in a new cross-border clash between Pakistan and Afghanistan, officials from both countries said.

Both attacks were repelled, the AP reported.

The Pakistani military has accused the Afghan Taliban of attacking two major border crossings.

Violence has flared after a series of bombings in Afghanistan last week, including two in the capital Kabul, blamed on Pakistan.

The Taliban government in Kabul has launched an offensive along parts of the southern border in retaliation, prompting Islamabad to vow a strong response.

Islamabad has accused Afghanistan of harboring militant groups led by the Pakistani Taliban on its territory, a charge Kabul denies.
