Fires broke out in the Russian capital Moscow and the Tver region after a nighttime attack by Ukrainian drones in several regions, local authorities said.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed that a drone was shot down near the Oil Refinery in Moscow.

“There were no injuries or threats to the work of the Oil Refinery in Moscow,” Sobyanin said on Telegram.

He added that the second drone damaged a technical room in the refinery after it was shot down, causing a fire that has since been extinguished.

In the city district of Kashira, about 100 kilometers south of Moscow, three drones were intercepted while they were on their way to the Kashira power plant.

Mihail Šuvalov, the head of the district, stated on Telegram that there were no casualties or damage, and the electricity supply remains stable. Emergency services are on the ground.

In a separate incident, a fire in the Konakovo district of Tver Oblast was extinguished without casualties, Russian state news agency TASS reported. The district’s gas and electricity supply is reportedly stable.

Russia’s Defense Ministry announced that air defenses shot down 158 Ukrainian drones overnight in regions including Kursk, Bryansk and Moscow. Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on these claims, AA writes.
