Drugs were found in coffee packages and perfume boxes in Sarajevo.
Authorized officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) in cooperation with JP Pošta Sarajevo officials discovered four shipments of narcotic drugs at CR Pošta Sarajevo.
The parcel shipments originated from EU countries and were intended for natural persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The shipments were declared according to postal customs declarations of insignificant value, declared as coffee, DVD and perfume, in which case the method of concealing narcotics in the original packaging of other goods was used as a modus operandi to avoid customs control measures.
Namely, during the physical inspection of the consignments inside the reported items, in the coffee packages and the perfume box, hidden PVC bags of unknown content were found, which by their appearance were associated with narcotics.
On that occasion, the authorized officials of the ITA performed testing with disposable testers for narcotics, during which the presence of psychoactive substances tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and compounds of the phenylethylamine and amphetamine class was detected.
As the presence of psychoactive substances was discovered in specific cases, the officers of the FMUP, the Federal Police Administration, were informed about all of the above, who accordingly
within their jurisdiction and under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, confiscated narcotics, namely:
Methamphetamine tablet – 960 pieces,
Methamphetamine powder – 1300 grams,
Tablet methamphetamine – 2000 pieces and
Marijuana and hashish – 100 grams.
In addition to the above-mentioned narcotics, in the shipment where hashish and marijuana were found, a set for illegal unlocking of locks was found, the packaging of which was similar to a bank card, and it was confiscated together with the narcotics.
