After some speculations that Dzumhur has moved to Belgrade, BiH tennis player denied this and explained what it was all about.
“I want to make this clear, it was pulled from my statement in the wrong context. I train in Belgrade because of better conditions, my fitness and tennis coach and psychologist are there. I am forced to be in Belgrade, just because of training and better conditions. I am still citizen of Sarajevo, I live in this city and I host the press conferences here. I will never leave Sarajevo,” stated Dzumhur.
He also announced exhibition matches with Novak Djokovic and some other tennis players from the former Yugoslavia, which could be organized at the end of this year or on the beginning of the next one.
“According to the latest information that I got from Nole, he really wants to come to Sarajevo and BiH. He hopes that by the end of this year or early next year, we could organize one match in each capital of countries of the former Yugoslavia, so the matches would be played in Sarajevo, Zagreb, Belgrade, Ljubljana, and we’ll probably go to Montenegro as well,” said BiH tennis player.
The Olympic Games in Rio are one of the main goals for Damir this year, but before that he has important tournaments as well.
“Of course, the Olympic Games in Rio are one of my main goals. This year I approached this goal, but I need more good results until the end of Roland Garros, because the list for the Olympic Games will be made than. With this result I’m very close to it, so I hope to keep this pace. There are six or seven tournaments that count for the Olympic Games, and I hope that I will have good enough results for the placement. New Masters is in Monte Carlo, where I have to play qualifications. Then comes the tournament in Barcelona from Series 500, and then the tournament in Istanbul from the Series 250. After that, comes the break and preparations for Roland Garros,” concluded Dzumhur.
