Energa-Unique Fair in the Region

Tuzla_panorama_1The international energy fair ‘Energa’ will be held in Tuzla from 4-7 June under the slogan “Think of the Future”, which expresses commitment to a modern, sustainable and efficient energy future.

The international fair ‘Energa 2013’ is a unique fair not only in BiH, but also in the wider region. There will be reputable local and foreign firms in the energy sector, which will present a variety of research and production achievements.

At this year’s fair, around 100 companies from 10 countries in the world will be presented from various fields in the energy sector. A project from the area of mining will be presented, supporting industries and producers of electricity from fossil and renewable energy resoruces, as well as manufacturers of modern energy materials, said today at the press conference in the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber.

The FBIH Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Erdal Trhulj said that energy efficiency is one of the resources that has not been fully used in BiH.

“It is evident that energy efficiency is one of the instruments that we have not fully used. All indicators that we have research shows that the biggest savings can be achieved in the public sector. In the last two years, the Ministry has been working intensively on adopting laws on energy efficiency and last year the draft of this law was adopted by the FBiH government. Even though the draft law has been sent to the FBiH Parliament, it has still not been considered’’, said Trhulj.

Tuzla has made the most progress in the energy sector, because in this city in 20112 the first solar power plant was put into operation. This was confirmed by Mirsad Đonlagić, the Chairman of the Executive Board of the ‘Energa’ fair.

“The solar power plant opened in Kalesija and has been working efficiently for a year and a half, and it has all certificates and approval for operation and is involved in the energy system of the FBiH. 10 years ago in Tuzla, they began to discuss energy efficiency and this was the basis for the organization of an international fair’’, said Đonlagić.

“The huge energy potential in Tuzla made us decide to hold the fair in this city”, said Željko Knežiček, President of the Organizing Committee of the fair.

“In the Tuzla power plant, 52 percent of electrical energy is produced from the total electricity production of Elektroprivrede BiH. In addition, 56 percent of the coal reserves of lignite in BiH is concentrated in the Tuzla basin. In the future, the biggest investments will be in the power plant ‘Tuzla’ with the building of a replacement unite seven and then it would be quite logical that from this city initiatives and ideas for energy efficiency will be launched’’, said Knežiček.

Until now, 64 works have been registered, which we will place in four thematic areas, explained the President of the fair ‘Energa’ Zlatko Alidžanović.

“At this year’s Tuzla fair we will speak on energy policies, as well as a new session. The fourth area is modern trends in energy and mining. In Tuzla, we formed a professional association for solar energy of BiH’’, added Alidžanović.

This year’s ‘Energa’ will be a chance for experts from state institutions, non-profit organizations, researchers, development and educational institutions, as well as foreign participants to present their research, results, experiences and achievements in the energy sector.
