During a regular inspection of the mail at the Government of the Republic of Serbia building, an envelope containing three bullets was discovered on Thursday, addressed to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić, Radiotelevision of Serbia reports.
The envelope was spotted during a security check on an X-ray machine, and it was later determined that the shipment was received on August 26 at the post office in Požarevac.
The police have identified and located the person who delivered the shipment, and an investigation into all the circumstances of the incident is underway. The Ministry of the Interior stated that it is taking all legally prescribed measures to protect the safety of citizens and institutions of the Republic of Serbia.
