United States Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Gabriel Escobar and US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Michael Murphy visited the Srebrenica-Potočari Memorial Center and Cemetery today to honor more than 8,000 men and boys who were victims of genocide, Murphy announced on the platform X, formerly Twitter.
“We also met with the Mothers of Srebrenica, whose stories emphasized the importance of supporting the survivors and helping those who work to preserve the memory of the victims,” he wrote.
“The United States remains committed to Srebrenica and its inhabitants, and we support Bosnia and Herzegovina on its Euro-Atlantic path,” he added.
Yesterday, Escobar arrived to visit BiH “to discuss the current political situation in light of the escalation of attacks on the Dayton Peace Agreement, the constitutional order of BiH and the state of BiH”.
Last night he had a meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Minister of Defense Zukan Helez.
