As part of the “Quick Response” exercise, EUFOR conducted a complex exercise at Sarajevo International Airport, which included securing a strategic location and demonstrating EUFOR’s ability to operate at night.
As it was emphasized from EUFOR, but also from Sarajevo International Airport, the event was overseen by the EUFOR Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Herbert Sailer.
Such exercises enable EUFOR to improve its skills and provide better support to our partners in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. EUFOR is a dedicated partner in BiH and will continue to test and improve its procedures in order to always be ready. Sarajevo International Airport, as a strategic facility, is of key importance for the security and stability of the country and ensures quick reaction and mobility in crisis situations.
A little earlier, EUFOR announced that on September 11, citizens will see increased movement of EUFOR vehicles on the roads throughout BiH, all as part of the Rapid Response exercise on the 24th.
“EUFOR will try to ensure that citizens feel as little activity as possible during this period. EUFOR is a strong, capable and reliable partner to the BiH authorities and remains committed to providing them with support in maintaining a safe and secure environment,” it was announced.
