The forces of the EUFOR Multinational Battalion conducted the joint exercise “ACHILES 25” as part of the planned activities to increase combat readiness and integrate newly arrived reserve forces.
The exercise involved forces from all contingents within the “ALTHEA” mission with a complex scenario that included firefighting units, providing medical assistance and support, demonstration control and more.
“EUFOR members yesterday conducted the ACHILES 25 exercise at the Butmir base, pushing their own limits in a complex scenario designed to improve operational capabilities.
Despite challenging weather, our soldiers demonstrated superior readiness to protect the force, respond quickly to threats and secure the base in a flash! With highly trained troops from 24 countries, ACHILES 25 once again demonstrated EUFOR’s strong cooperation, readiness and commitment to security,” EUFOR announced.
Such activities are aimed at increasing integration between the forces that are in regular composition with those that arrived as part of the supply of reserve forces.
The decision to send reserve forces comes after the recent escalation of the political crisis in BiH, particularly in the context of the trial of the President of the Republika Srpska entity, Milorad Dodik.
