Yesterday marked an important milestone for the EUFOR Multinational Battalion as the Italian contingents — from the Marina Militare (Navy), who completed their tour, and the Esercito (Army) — formally handed over their responsibilities.
At the same time, a platoon from North Macedonia joined the Battalion within the Turkish company as part of the rotational units. We also bid a heartfelt farewell to the Italian and Turkish companies, who have successfully concluded their missions.
COM EUFOR, Major General Florin Marian Barbu, and DCOM EUFOR, Brigadier General Uberto Incisa di Camerana, attended the official ceremony honoring the contingents involved.
Lieutenant Colonel Ioan Adrian Rus, Commander of the Multinational Battalion, presented certificates of appreciation to soldiers who delivered outstanding results and extended a warm welcome to those beginning their service with EUFOR.
In the coming weeks, the newly arrived troops will take part in a series of training activities, culminating in an intensive integration exercise to showcase their professionalism and operational readiness.
Together for peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
