Europe braces for the “most violent Start to Winter you’ve ever experienced”

After a prolonged period of intense heat in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), cooler weather with lower temperatures and rain has set in. However, the real cold is yet to come for BiH and the rest of the continent.

“It has cooled down, but it’s nothing compared to what’s coming from Friday through the weekend. Starting Friday, November-like temperatures will be below average, with the warmest parts of the country barely reaching 10 degrees Celsius during the day. According to the latest forecasts, the first snow is likely to arrive at the end of this week in the high mountains of our country,” BiH media reported.

End of summer across Europe

Summer is also coming to an end in other parts of Europe, with meteorologists in Germany forecasting a 20-degree drop in temperature.

“There could be significant flooding in southeastern Germany and its neighboring countries, Austria and the Czech Republic,” warned meteorologist Ronald Porschke.

“This is likely the most violent start to winter in mid-September that this region has ever experienced. By the weekend, two to three meters of fresh snow could fall in the Alps. There’s also a significant flood risk in parts of Europe,” warned German meteorologist Dominik Jung.
