The team of the European Police Office for Law Enforcement (Europol) has arrived in Sarajevo, Klix.ba learns. Their host is Nusret Selimović, Commissioner of the Police Department of the MUP of Sarajevo Canton.
Europol assists national law enforcement authorities in the fight against serious international crimes and terrorism.
Their team has been working for months with police and judicial agencies in BiH on the “Sky” cases, that is, on the decryption of encrypted mobile phones and messages used by criminogenic persons.
The epilogue is numerous arrests of persons in connection with criminal acts connected with organized crime, and police officers and prosecutors who cooperated with criminals and assisted them in committing serious crimes are also targeted.
According to certain police analyses, more than 2,000 people in Bosnia and Herzegovina used protected encrypted phones, i.e. the Sky mobile application.
