Exhibition “Bridges of the City of Sarajevo” opened

12939314_1753191194917557_1960377753_nExhibition “Bridges of the city of Sarajevo”, which was prepared by the Museum of the City of Sarajevo within the celebration of the 6th of April, the Day of the City, was opened in Brusa-bezistan, in the annex of this museum.

The exhibition contains 14 works of small, medium and large format that show the appearance of bridges and parts of the city.

Director of the Museum of the City of Sarajevo Muamer Sehovic said that the museum hosted two exhibitions this year, “Remembering Walter” by Igor Radovanovic and the exhibition “Bridges of the city of Sarajevo”, which is made from the museum holdings.

According to him, this exhibition is some kind of document that shows the appearance of the old Sarajevo and bridges on the Miljacka River before and after decorating her banks, from Austro-Hungarian period until the mid-20th century, so that besides artistic, the exhibition also has a historical-documentary character.

Authors of paintings are mostly from the period of Austro-Hungarian rule, from 1878 to 1918, who stayed in Sarajevo for some time, when these works were created and presented.

The exhibition will be opened until the 16th of April.
