Exhibition of the original Ahdnama in Fojnica

Head of Fojnica Municipality Salkan Merdžanić and Guardian of the Franciscan Monastery in Fojnica friar Nikica Vuijca agreed to exhibit the original version of ‘Ahdnama’ on the occasion of 550 years since it was signed, reports Fena.

The exhibition will be set on 24,25 and 26 May in the Museum of Franciscan Monastery in Fojnica in the period from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Ahd-Namah (the Order) of Sultan Mehmed II the Conqueror guaranteed security and freedom to the Franciscans. This document allowed the Franciscans of the day to preach freely among the Catholics in BiH and as such is one of the first documents of religious tolerance in BiH.
