Association “Family network” in cooperation with the Cantonal Center for Social Work Sarajevo and with the Center for Social Work Banja Luka provides assistance to families based on the model which is created on the idea that socially disadvantaged people can solve their own social problems and strengthen their own abilities, as well as capacities of their families and social networks, rather than having to wait for someone else to do it for them.
It is a model where the professionals are still present and are monitoring the situation, but the biggest responsibility is on the families that at a joint conference needs to find a way to solve their own problems.
For now, this model is applied in the area of Sarajevo Canton and City of Banja Luka, and it has proven to be very successful and there is possibility to extend this project even in other cities in the country, states the Association “Family Network”.
