The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) made a decision yesterday to take the necessary measures to protect the assets and interests of the FBiH in the case of the company Zrak.
This was done at the suggestion of the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry of the FBiH, and this implies the engagement of the entity’s attorney’s office.
The Attorney General’s Office was requested to take all the necessary legal actions for the protection of property in accordance with its competences, as well as to urge the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo to make a decision within the legal deadline on the appeal against the decision of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo from April 14th of this year on the initiation bankruptcy proceedings in Zrak.
As the reason why they made such a decision, the FBiH Government pointed out the harmful consequences that will occur in case of failure to make a decision within the legal deadline.
Bearing in mind in particular the fact that it is a business entity that produces weapons and military equipment and is majority owned by the FBiH, in the information of the line ministry it is emphasized that it is necessary for the Attorney General to take all necessary actions in this bankruptcy procedure to protect the property and interests of the FBiH property.
This also implies involvement in, as they announced, court proceedings for the purpose of reviewing the decision on the initiation of bankruptcy proceedings before the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo.
Considering that there is an appeal procedure on the decision to initiate bankruptcy proceedings, which can take a long time, it is in the interest of all parties involved in the procedure that the court makes a decision on the appeal within the legal term due to the very complex situation in this company.
The FBiH Government assures that the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry is conducting continuous activities to resolve this situation.
Earlier this week, the bankruptcy administrator dismissed the workers of this company, who claim that the company has all the conditions for business. The workers were visited by FBiH Prime Minister Nermin Niksic (SDP) and line minister Vedran Lakic (SDP), and on that occasion they told them that they would try to solve the problems of Zrak, Klix.ba reports.
