Police officers of the Special Police Unit of the Federal Police Administration (FPA) took part in the “Operation Alliance Shield” exercise organized by the United States (U.S.) Embassy in Sarajevo.
The mentioned exercise is a simulation of the actual security situation and emergency preparedness in order to demonstrate the readiness, training, and coordination of police and security services in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). One of the goals of the exercise is to establish a chain of command and control for more efficient communication and faster response.
In addition to police officers from the Special Police Unit of the FPA, the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Canton Sarajevo (CS), the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) of BiH, and other services participated in the exercise. The exercise is part of a months-long training of BiH police and security agencies with the Regional Security Office, the Security Service, and the U.S.Embassy in Sarajevo. Such exercises are regularly conducted around the world with the goal of creating a safe community.
”The simulation exercise was conducted successfully, and police officers used a helicopter during this exercise, as well as other necessary equipment for effective action in such situations,” it was said by the FPA.
