Festival “Baščaršijske noći (Baščaršija Nights)” begins

Twenty-first festival “Baščaršija Nights (Baščaršijske noći)” was officially opened last night, on the 1^st of July, at the National Theatre Sarajevo with concert of Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra, under the title “Greetings from Austria”.

With the orchestra also performed the conductor and soloists from Austria, Hungary and Australia: Brigitta Simon, soprano (Hungary), concert master, violinist Anne Harvey-Nagl (Australia) and conductor Uwe Theimer (Austria).

The audience had the opportunity to hear the popular opera arias and the most beautiful compositions of authors such as: J. Straus, J. Lanner, N. Dostal, W. Jelinek, F. Lehar, C. Millocker, J. Offenbach, R. Stolz.

The concert was organized in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in BiH.

Entrance to the concert was free of charge.
