The “TermagART 2026” festival opened last night in Jahorina, and the audience in the coming days can expect a program that connects visual art, theater and film, with the participation of established and young authors of the regional art scene.
At the official opening, the art director of the festival, Marko Kusmuk, addressed the guests, who said that the artists will create works that will be able to be seen at the final exhibition in the “Termag” hotel.
Art historian and curator Anja Bogojević added that 16 artists of different profiles, interests and poetics will be staying in Jahorina for seven days, who will offer new observations and views.
“The residency program represents an exceptional opportunity for artists to stay in Jahorina, which provides an ideal setting, but also a necessary step away from everyday life and routine, opening up space for new thoughts and encounters,” stated Bogojević.
The actor Tihomir Stanić also addressed the audience, who pointed out that it is with great joy that he is coming to Jahorina again, recalling that two years ago he attended the birth of the idea for this festival.
The manager of the “Termag” hotel, Tanja Vukojičić, said that the Festival, which is being held on Jahorina for the third time, is growing and developing the idea that this mountain, in addition to being a tourist destination, should be an art and culture destination.
Ars Aevi, Alberto Giacometti Foundation, Art Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Sarajevo, Atelje 212 and Sarajevo Film Festival stand out among the significant partners and institutions that participated in the festival program in previous years.
As part of the Festival, the monodrama “Detinjarije” performed by Tihomir Stanić is on the program tonight at 7 p.m. Tarik Berber’s exhibition “Bunny on Steroids” will be opened on August 26 in the gallery of the Termag Hotel in Jahorina.
On Thursday, August 27, the audience will have the opportunity to attend a guided tour of the “Dialogue of Transformation” exhibition, led by Marko Kusmuk and Juliet Walker, in the premises of the Academy of Fine Arts.
The program “SFF on Jahorina” is scheduled for August 28, when the film “Black money for white nights” will be shown at the Termag hotel.
The festival will end on August 29 with the opening of the final exhibition “TermagART ’26” in the gallery of the Termag Hotel, the organizers announced.
