The Minister of Internal Affairs of Canton Sarajevo (CS), Admir Katica, along with associates and aviation experts, including former pilots trained to operate the Bell helicopter, and representatives of the selected supplier, held an online meeting with representatives of the Bell Textron company.
Discussions were held regarding the helicopter’s configuration, and significant technical details related to additional equipment were defined. It was confirmed that production is progressing according to plan and on schedule, the CS Ministry of Internal Affairs stated.
“Once again, we received confirmation that production is proceeding as planned and that all deadlines will be met. During the meeting, we defined important details regarding the additional equipment we want to install to make our helicopter as efficient and functional as possible. We discussed the cabin interior, the communication system, the radio station that will be installed in the helicopter, and finally, the colors and markings. This year, we plan to conduct the technical acceptance of the aircraft,” said Katica.
There were also discussions about additional equipment on the helicopter for use in cases of natural and environmental disasters, firefighting, and similar situations, as well as about the training schedule that the helicopter manufacturer will provide for the pilots and aviation mechanics of the first helicopter unit of the CS Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The program sales manager at Bell Textron, Fanny Cousineau, presented the latest photos from the factory where the Bell 412 helicopter for the CS Ministry of Internal Affairs is being manufactured.
“In the next ten days, we expect the CS Ministry of Internal Affairs, as the customer, to provide us with a few more answers related to technical details so that from our side, the final configuration will be completed by June 4th. After that, we will inform the CS Ministry of Internal Affairs about the date for their visit to our factory for the technical acceptance of the helicopter. We confirm that we will deliver the helicopter within the agreed timeframe, possibly even earlier,” stated Cousineau.
The CS Ministry of Internal Affairs signed the contract for the procurement and delivery of the Bell 412EPX helicopter on June 4th, 2024, with a delivery deadline of two years.
