The first of two rallies entitled “For the President, for Srpska, for the Institutions” was held in front of the building of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska today in Banja Luka.
The rally was attended by the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, the Chairperson of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović, the Speaker of the National Assembly Nenad Stevandić, Prime Minister Radovan Višković, ministers in the RS Government, party leaders, as well as Minister in the Government of Serbia Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski.
The Republika Srpska will keep the peace, none of our men and women will go to war, said the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik.
“There is someone to defend the Republic, we were not created to wage war, but to live, to have peace, and what comes from Sarajevo is unrest,” Dodik said at the rally.
Dodik reiterated that he is offering a deal and that he will “call for that deal three times in Serbian”.
He stressed that they had gathered in Banja Luka to encourage the deputies who will continue to discuss important decisions, but also to send a message that “they will not allow prosecutors from Sarajevo to question them”.
“We remain calm and united. We will be even stronger, we have more and more friends”, said Dodik.
He stressed that tomorrow the RS National Assembly will make decisions and that it is therefore important that they come to the same place again at one o’clock tomorrow.
“Let no Serb go to Sarajevo tomorrow because they are ready to throw stones and smash cars there. Come here, we are here for the Republika Srpska, Serbia, the freedom of this people, the preservation of all of us. Long live Republika Srpska, long live Serbia! Long live the Serbian people, long live all good people”, said Dodik.
He told Bosniaks and Croats “to live freely in Republika Srpska, that they will lack nothing”.
He stressed that a number of citizens would remain in front of the National Assembly, and they would continue tomorrow.
“I ask for peace,” Dodik stressed.
The Chairperson of the Presidency of BiH, Željka Cvijanović, said today in Banja Luka that “Republika Srpska does not accept a dictator or a diktat, but the freedom it fought for and which it is obliged to pass on to future generations”.
Cvijanović stressed that “the people are here to show that they are worthy of that freedom, but also that they are obliged to defend the institutions, mostly because of those who gave their lives for Republika Srpska”.
That is why it is important, as she said, that today in Banja Luka both old and young are together as a big family standing by their president.
The Speaker of the National Assembly Nenad Stevandić, the Acting Director of the “Official Gazette” Miloš Lukić, Minister in the Government of Serbia Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski and others spoke at the rally.
The rally is scheduled to continue tomorrow at 12 noon at the same place, BHRT writes.
