The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, stated today that he expects that Bosnia and Herzegovina will end up on the “gray list” of Moneyval.
“This is what the information we have and the obligations we have not fulfilled say. The register of real owners in FBiH is certainly one of the problems. Another is the fact that SNSD representatives did not want to agree with what is completely normal and realistic, which is the management of seized property at the state level,” Konaković said.
He added that they did not want to discuss the formation of the agency at all.
“We were even ready to discuss the fact that this property should be transferred to entities and municipalities, but it has to be transferred from the state level. They did not want to discuss this,” Konaković said at a press conference in Sarajevo.
These are, he stated, two main reasons. He is of the opinion that our public should be informed about what the “grey list” really is.
“Do you know that today Bulgaria, a member of the Eurozone and the European Union, is on that ‘gray list’, for example, that until recently there were several countries that were developed countries, we can say that. These are sometimes administrative problems. I saw that some politicians tried to make fun of it. We saved Bosnia and Herzegovina even from the ‘black list’, which would be a real disaster,” Konaković said.
According to him, this is a warning to everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina that politicians should do their job more seriously.
“With these activities, we can quickly fix what we didn’t do and then lobby to remove us from this gray list,” said Konaković.
