Former Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Novalić, who was sentenced to four years in prison in the “Respiratori” affair, will report to the state prison in Vojkovići in East Sarajevo today to serve his sentence.
Elmir Jahić, a member of the legal team of the former prime minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said that the legal deadline for Novalić to voluntarily report to serve his sentence expires today.
“That’s why he will go to the state prison on Friday, after Juma prayer, where he will report to serve his sentence between 3:00 and 3:30 p.m.,” Jahić said.
So far, all requests to postpone Novalić’s departure for the execution of his sentence have been rejected, but Jahić has announced new procedures, such as an appeal to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the use of extraordinary legal remedies and other legal options.
In the “Respirators” scandal, which refers to the illegal procurement of a hundred defective Chinese respirators during the corona virus pandemic, apart from Novalić, the former director of the Civil Protection Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fahrudin Solak, and Fikret Hodžić, director of the company “Srebrena malina” were sentenced to six years in prison. “, through which respirators were procured, to five years in prison.
Solak and Hodžić have already started serving their sentence in the state prison in Vojkovići, BHRT writes.
