At the Srebrenica Police Station, four more people connected to the Srebrenica Memorial Center were questioned today, increasing the number of people questioned so far to seven, while there are a total of 26 of them on the list of people who should be questioned, confirmed Feni representative of the Memorial Center Edin Ikanović.

Ikanović explained that three people who previously collaborated with the Memorial Center and one current associate gave their statements today, and that the hearings were conducted in the presence of lawyers.

“The hearings are over for today. There were three people – three former and one current associate of the Memorial Center. They gave their statements in the presence of a lawyer. We were told that in the coming days they will continue the interrogation of the other persons on the list, and there are 26 of them in total,” said Ikanović.

According to him, three people were questioned on Friday, so a total of seven of them have given statements to the police so far.

He announced that the Memorial Center, in consultation with the legal team and the lawyer, will consider further steps regarding the hearings.

“We will take certain steps that we will implement in the coming period as the legal team believes is the wisest at this moment. We can see where the story of alleged tax evasion and handling of an anonymous report leads,” said Ikanović.

He believes that the information that is the subject of checks, if there was a need to determine it, could have been obtained from other competent institutions, without inviting current and former associates of the Memorial Center to hearings.

Hearings of current and former employees and associates of the Memorial Center began after 26 people were summoned to collect information at the Srebrenica Police Station, by order of the competent prosecutor’s office in Bijeljina.
