In the past 24 hours, four new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in the Sarajevo Canton, 401 people were tested, and eight of our fellow citizens recovered from the Covid-19 infection.
In the same period, there were no deaths from the consequences of this infection. Currently, 31 patients are in hospital, 20 at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, and 11 at the General Hospital “Prim. Abdulah Nakas”.
One patient uses oxygen support for breathing. Today, Sarajevo Canton records 84 active cases of Covid-19 infection.
There are currently 678 people in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 52,668 people infected with coronavirus and 51,299 cured have been registered in Sarajevo Canton. According to the data of the Institute of Public Health of CS, in the past seven the average number of infected is four, while the weekly incidence, ie the number of patients per 100,000 inhabitants, is six.
It was confirmed that delta coronavirus strain was recorded in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). A woman from Medjugorje tested positive for this new strain of coronavirus.

“The sample was taken on June 28th in Medjugorje and delivered from our partner laboratory Vitalis from Mostar. We immediately noticed that there are lines that differ from the British version so we did additional analyzes. There were six samples, so there is a chance that the delta the strain is found in another one of them, ” she noted.
