General Andras Szucs is the New Chief of EUFOR Staff

euforAn official ceremony to appoint the Chief of EUFOR staff was organized today in “Butmir”, Sarajevo. The former Chief of EUFOR Brigadier General József Szpisják left his duty, which was taken over by the Brigader General and now the new Chief of EUFOR Staff Andraš Andras Szűcs.

General Szűcs comes from the Hungarian Armed Forces.

General Szűcs graduated from the Military Academy “Frunze” in Moscow and at the Hungarian Military Academy and he also graduated from the War College in Washington. He served in the Multinational Corps in the Iraqi  Center for Joint Operations in Baghdad.

General Szucs in his speech during the ceremony said that taking over the new duty represents a great honor for him, and the focus of his mission will be for a safe and secure environment in B&H.

He underlined that he will continue the good work of the former Chief of EUFOR Staff, General Szpisják and will engage in further improving the efficiency of this staff, strengthen cooperation with the B&H Armed Forces, governmental and non – governmental sector in B&H, as well as with NATO Headquarters in B&H and other international organizations.
