The Federal Minister of Defence of Germany Boris Pistorius stated that hybrid attacks are being launched from Russia, with Germany as a primary target.
“Putin is involved in hybrid attacks, and Germany is particularly in focus,” Pistorius stated.
Defining hybrid warfare as a “combination of traditional military operations, economic pressure, cyberattacks, and propaganda in the media and on social media,” he explained that the attackers’ aim is to destabilize societies.
Emphasizing the importance of Germany being prepared for such attacks, Pistorius said, “We must prepare so that we can reliably counter Putin’s threat.”
The German defense chief added that every effort must be made to ensure that Putin’s strategy does not succeed.
