During the intergovernmental negotiations on development cooperation between Germany and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which were held last week in Berlin, Germany committed to providing extensive assistance in the amount of 157.5 million euros. The funds will be provided in the form of soft loans, grants and technical cooperation, and should be used primarily in the areas of energy transition and sustainable economic development.
Germany is thus supporting, through the German development bank KfW, the construction of wind farms and the decarbonization of the energy sector, among other things.
The German organization Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) helps and advises, among other things, companies and public services in terms of digitalization, improving vocational education and developing the circular economy. In addition, Germany will also advocate for good governance and support public institutions on their further path towards the European Union.
With this support, Germany is sending a clear signal of partnership and promoting the transformation of Bosnia and Herzegovina towards a sustainable and economically stable European future, the Public Relations Department of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany announced.
