Giant Pumpkin Contest in Poland: Winning Gourd Weighs an Impressive 546 Kilograms

In the autumn setting of the Botanical Garden in Powsin near Warsaw, the fourth competition for growing the heaviest pumpkin was held, which every year brings together gardening enthusiasts from all over Poland.

This colorful event once again offered impressive specimens of pumpkins that reach incredible dimensions and weight.

This year’s winner is the giant pumpkin “Klementyna,” weighing 546 kilograms, which was declared the heaviest squash pumpkin in the country.

The pumpkin “Danja,” weighing 888 kilograms, remains Poland’s record holder.

The competition, in addition to its exhibition character, also had an educational goal, and the organizers said they wanted to encourage people to engage more in gardening and value home-grown food.

Alongside the competition, the event was enriched with children’s workshops, tastings of pumpkin-based products, and an exhibition of seeds and tools for growing this popular vegetable.
